The sequel to the first Fantastic Beasts film will be set among more of the iconic places from the Harry Potter world than were in the first film – including Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. To celebrate heading Back to Hogwarts, Warner Bros. has released a behind-the-scenes teaser video with commentary from the stars of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.

"I loved going back to Hogwarts. Of course, I did," creator and screenwriter J.K. Rowling said. "It looks very familiar to anyone who saw the Potter movies. But, obviously, the teaching staff are different."

With Labor Day upon us and summer coming to a close, let's look back at how Hollywood fared at the North American box office this past season. Disney had four of the Top 10 movies released at the domestic box office this summer, with Avengers: Infinity War leading the pack with $678.7 million.

It's been a matter of debate, however, whether Infinity War even counts as a summer movie since Disney bumped its release from May 4th to April 27th. In the past, a film released on the last weekend in April was a spring release, but Hollywood continues to blur the lines between actual seasons and "movie" seasons. If we were being strict about the actual definition of "summer" then only movies released between June 21 and September 22, 2018, would count as summer movies. But Hollywood doesn't do that. And since IGN included Infinity War in its summer movie preview, we're going to keep it defined as one for the purposes of this box office wrap-up.

Not all existing Dota 2 heroes are guaranteed to make it into Valve’s next game, Artifact, but this crafty Geomancer, Meepo, is confirmed to get a card counterpart, and IGN has the first details on his cards.

In Artifact, almost every known hero card has either a passive or active ability and a signature spell card. Meepo is unique in that his card has both an active and a passive. His active ability, Poof, allows Meepo to move to an allied Meepos lane and deal 2 damage to his new enemy neighbors. His passive or “continuous effect” ability, United We Fall, requires that if Meepo dies, allied Meepos in other lanes die too.

Like in Dota 2, Meepo’s signature spell allows him to summon another Meepo. You can see the spell card and the art for other Meepo in the slideshow below. Each hero comes with three copies of their signature spell card, so there’s potential to have four Meepos across the board at once.

Artifact, the next game from Half-Life developer Valve, is decidedly bucking digital card game trends. Not only is it not free-to-play, it’s not going to have any kind of free in-game currency to spend on cards -- a decision Valve tells me is to avoid the grind that can make other CCGs feel like a job instead of a game.

“At its core, we want you to play the game because you enjoy playing the game,” programmer Brandon Reinhart told me when I visited Valve last week. They don’t want you to feel obligated to do daily quests just so you have enough gold to get a pack that might have the card you want. They want you to just play the game.

So instead of the usual digital model, Artifact is following a physical one like that of Magic: The Gathering -- whose creator, Richard Garfield, is also the lead designer of Artifact. It will have a $20 price tag that gets you two full decks and 10 card packs, and all card packs after that cost $2 each.

One of the survivors of the Jacksonville shooting has officially filed a lawsuit against EA, the venue the tournament took place, and six other potentially liable parties.

The survivor, Jacob Mitich, competed in the tournament and sustained injuries after being shot twice. The lawsuit in question (via The Hollywood Reporter) claims the various parties are liable due to negligence in not providing sufficient security, and for hosting the tournament at an unsuitable venue in the first place.

The lawsuit points at The Landing marketplace, which houses the GLHF Game Bar where the shooting took place, and identifies it as a “hub of dangerous, violent and too often, deadly activity.” It further points to recent violence in the area, including a hit-and-run murder, a stabbing and a double shooting, ultimately questioning EA’s decision in holding the event in this location.

When Star Trek: Deep Space Nine first aired a quarter of a century ago this year, it immediately earned the mantle of being the “odd one out” when it came to Star Trek shows. It’s easy to understand why: It was the first Trek not created by Gene Roddenberry, nor did it follow the voyages of the Starship Enterprise which the previous two iterations had. Indeed, it bucked the whole basic Trek premise of “boldly going where no one has gone before” in that it was set on a space station rather than a starship. And while it’s true that it never reached the ratings highs of The Next Generation, DS9 proved popular amongst fans and critics alike, with numerous pundits citing it as the best Star Trek series outright. It’s fair to say that Deep Space Nine has aged very well compared to some of the other Trek offerings, largely because the themes it explored, and its method of storytelling, were both ahead of its time. No Man's Sky Launches Its First Community Event

Hello Games has announced the first in a series of No Man's Sky community events, which will centre around returning character Specialist Polo's discovery of "another iteration of the universe" and task players with helping them learn more about this "glitch in reality".

The news was announced in a blog post, with studio boss Sean Murray clarifying that the community events will be open to all explorers who have completed the first Space Anomaly mission, with Specialist Polo contacting these players directly to ask for assistance.

This week's event has been referred to as "the first chapter" of an ongoing research project and tasks players with visiting "a specific corner of the galaxy" (although no details of where that is are given in the post) to excavate and return a selection of "strange objects" which have begun spawning underground. Returning these objects will reward players with Quicksilver, a valuable resource that can be used to create a variety of exclusive exotic collectables.

Bootham Crescent.
Bootham Crescent is a sports stadium, the home of the association football club York City and rugby league club York City Knights, in York, North Yorkshire, England. The ground opened on 31 August 1932 with a capacity of 8,256. Improvements added in the early 1980s include a gymnasium, a lounge for officials, and offices. Bootham Crescent hosted football in the Football League from 1932 to 2004 and from 2012 to 2016. It includes four stands: the Main Stand, the Popular Stand, the Grosvenor Road End and the David Longhurst Stand, named after a player who died at the ground in 1990. The ground has hosted a concert, a grand firework display, beer festivals, and American football and rugby league matches. The record attendance of 28,123 was set in March 1938, for an FA Cup match against Huddersfield Town. The teams are expected to move to a community stadium at Monks Cross in Huntington in mid-2019, and the Bootham Crescent site will then be used for housing.

The movie tells the story of a mercenary, played by Hemsworth, who takes a job to save the son of a businessman. Dhaka is a Netflix production, and filming starts in November.

Hargrave is a stunt coordinator who works as Chris Evans' stunt double.

Hemsworth most recently appeared in the Russo Brothers' Avengers: Infinity War, playing Thor. Hemsworth will reprise the role in the next Avengers film coming out in May. Hemsworth was also slated to appear in Star Trek 4, but negotiations have reportedly stalled.

Just about everyone recognizes the iconic, twist ending to the original Planet of the Apes movie -- Charlton Heston shouting at a ruined Statue of Liberty, and by extension, at humanity itself, which he’s finally realized has been lost to the ages and its own penchant for self-destruction. And most fans know that ending was at least in part the work of legendary Twilight Zone creator Rod Serling, a master of the gut-punch twist if ever there was one, and the original writer on the Apes movie.

During the film’s gestation, Serling scripted several drafts of Planet of the Apes, adapting the Pierre Boulle novel, though eventually screenwriter Michael Wilson came in to bring his own spin to the material. But in the 50 years since the film’s release, fans have often wondered how much of Serling’s work remained in the final product. Now, thanks to BOOM! Studios’ Planet of the Apes: Visionaries graphic novel, we have a pretty good idea.

Irene Vartanoff, Severin's close friend and former Marvel employee, announced Severin's death on Facebook.

Severin first began working in the comics industry in the late 1940s, when she was a colorist for EC Comics. Severin would eventually work for Marvel Comics starting in the late 1950s, where she served as the company's head colorist until 1972. Severin would also go on to co-create Spider-Woman and design the character's costume.

Severin also worked on The Incredible Hulk, Kull the Conqueror, and Not Brand Ecch, among other properties. She was inducted into the Will Eisner Comics Hall of Fame in 2001.

Anthem's Game Director, Jon Warner said that despite what fans have speculated about Anthem being a departure from past BioWare games, the upcoming game is actually an evolution of their craft.

Speaking with GamesIndustry.biz, Warner called Anthem an "amalgamation" of everything BioWare has done to date. An MMO looter shooter seems on the surface to be a change of course from the single-player RPGs BioWare is beloved for, but Warner insisted the changes are evolutionary.

"If you look at BioWare games on a spectrum, from Baldur's Gate to Neverwinter, and Jade Empire to Knights of the Old Republic, to Mass Effect and Dragon Age," Warner said, "you'll see that the games have always been about evolving our technique and storytelling... so the way that we look at it, Anthem is not a departure, it's the continued evolution of our craft and our technique."

A Reddit post from Thursday morning by Ghulam_Jewel compares Spider-Man E3 and release screenshots, and is nearing 7,000 upvotes and 1,000 comments. Redditors are arguing over whether or not the textures look worse in the release versions – but one thing everyone agrees on is that what once was a giant puddle is now a smaller puddle.

EA has announced that Battlefield 5 - originally due for release October 19 - has had its release date pushed back a month, and will now release November 20.

The news comes from Oskar Gabrielson, General Manager of developer DICE, in a blog post on EA's website. He seems to point to player feedback as being the primary reason behind the delay, thanking the "tens of thousands" of players who have played both during closed alphas or in demo booths at events such as E3 and Gamescom, and highlights some positive feedback around weapons handling and player movement.

It seems that core gameplay is the sticking point, with Gabrielson pointing in particular to "gameplay tempo", as well as "soldier visibility" and "player friction". While he doesn't go into any details around the specifics of the feedback, he does state that players will see improvements in these areas in the game's upcoming open beta, which kicks off September 6 (or September 4 for pre-orders or members of Origin Access Premier, Origin Access Basic or EA Access).

In Michigan, US Highway 45 (US 45) runs through the Upper Peninsula, from the Wisconsin border near Watersmeet north to Ontonagon. US 45 extends south from Michigan to Mobile, Alabama, on the Gulf Coast. The Michigan segment, part of the state trunkline highway system maintained by the Michigan Department of Transportation, runs for approximately 55 miles (89 km) through the Ottawa National Forest, parallel to the Ontonagon River. In the 1930s, when the highway was extended into Michigan, it replaced sections of M-26 and M-35. An 8-mile (13 km) segment was significantly reconstructed in the late 1950s, and an alignment change in the 1970s moved the routing of US 45 near Rockland before it was reversed soon afterwards. A segment of roadway that formerly carried US 45 is the site of the Paulding Light, an intermittent reflection whose origins were scientifically described in 2010.

And now here I am in an upstairs room at Anime Expo in Los Angeles, sitting across the table from him.

I’ve told friends that the course of my professional life has been equally defined by my childhood encounters with Jesus and video games, and I don’t think that’s a bit of an exaggeration. As a former clergyman and current video game commentator, I’ve divided my adulthood between metaphysics and pixels, and both have proven worthwhile pursuits. One thing both fields hold in common, and perhaps the tie that most binds them in me, is that they are both intrinsically rooted in stories of trying, failing, trying again, learning, exploring, growing, and finally overcoming. They are stories of second chances and becoming better people.

THR reports Nicotero, who also directed several The Walking Dead episodes, will create a new Spawn design with the help from his effects company KNB EFX. Nicotero worked on the original 1997 Spawn film as well.

“I'm a long-time fan of Greg’s work and the projects his company, KNB have done throughout the years,” McFarlane said. “Working with him once again, to re-invent the Spawn 'look' so it will match the supernatural theme in the movie, is going to be a fun process.”

Nintendo has forced 11-year-old fan game creation tool Pokemon Essentials to be taken down by filing a copyright claim.

"Please don't freak out about the claim, and there's no reason to get angry with Nintendo or anyone else involved," wrote an administrator of PokeCommunity, where Pokemon Essentials had been hosted and distributed. "It doesn't need to be a bigger deal than it should be.

"We will not allow Pokemon Essentials or any of its assets to be hosted or distributed on PokeCommunity. This includes derivatives such as Essentials GS or Essentials DS. We sincerely apologize that we have to do this, but there is no going around it."

The series includes eight separate stories centering on people who think they're the descendants of the titular Russian royal family. Each episode features a new story with a different cast.

Scarlet Finds a Great New Home at DC

While not Brian Bendis' first creator-owned title at DC, Scarlet #1 brings with it a unique set of challenges. Bendis and artist Alex Maleev have to craft a first issue that serves as a clean and easy gateway for those who didn't read the previous two volumes. But at the same time, they have to ensure that veteran readers are being given a satisfying dose of story after waiting several years for Scarlet to make its return. Fortunately, Scarlet #1 strikes that delicate balance, continuing Bendis' strong track record at DC this year.

Bendis and Maleev certainly picked an auspicious time to resurrect this series, given what's happened in the world at large and Portland in particular since the previous volume wrapped. Suffice it to say, the idea of Portland becoming ground zero in a new American Revolution fueled by social media seems far less outlandish than it did even a few short years ago. This issue opens with Portland cut off from the rest of the US and completely under the control of Scarlet's grassroots army. Maleev paints a chilling portrait of a city under siege. It's easy to forget this book is taking place in the US and not a war-ravaged country like Syria. But that's always been part of this series' appeal. It feels uncomfortably real in the same way comics like DMZ do.
