Fallout 76 Patch Notes: Increased Stash Storage, Improved Stability, Bug Fixes and More

Bethesda has released the full notes for Fallout 67 Patch 1.0.2.0, which will be coming December 4.
Though many of the details of this patch were previously revealed, a lot of new information has been given, including specifics on bug fixes, rebalancing, general improvements and more. Patch 1.0.2.0 clocks in at 3 GB for consoles and 36MB for PC versions of the game. Additionally, Bethesda promised that a new patch would drop on December 11.
The bulk of the patch notes detail various bug fixes. For consoles, an issue that caused players to encounter an infinite loading screen while signing out has been fixed. For Xbox One in particular, a crash that would send multiple team invitations after exiting Vault 76 to players who aren’t on your friends list has been ironed out as well. For PS4, C.A.M.P. wires won’t float in air when trying to connect multiple objects. For all versions of the game, an issue that made it so players couldn’t exit their power armor has been fixed.

Earlier this week, SpongeBob Squarepants creator Stephen Hillenburg died at the age of 57 after a battle with ALS. The news hit fans of the television show – which has been on the air for nearly 20 years – hard, and they're coming together to petition the NFL to pay tribute to the show during the next Super Bowl.
On Change.org, a petition titled "Have 'Sweet Victory' Performed at the Super Bowl" was started by user Isreal Colunga, and more than 40,000 people have already signed it, with the number continuing to climb.

But the fact of the matter is that they’ve probably got something to show by now, even if it’s just a CG trailer. And Keighley has a knack of getting major exclusives out of Nintendo. Look no further than 2014, when he scored a video of Miyamoto running around Hyrule from a Nintendo conference room. As someone who does this for a living, I can assure you, getting that is no easy task. Or take last year, when Zelda’s Master Cycle was revealed at The Game Awards. Point is, I think Reggie is playing coy, and Metroid is coming out to play – in some form – at this year’s event.

It's an even-numbered episode of Titans, which means it's time for the series to draw another outside character into Dick Grayson's world. At least in this case the focus shifts to another long-standing Teen Titans character rather than whatever batch of heroes DC is attempting to position for a spinoff series. Donna Troy doesn't make as strong a first impression as the likes of the Doom Patrol, but she does show more potential in terms of being a lasting, significant presence on the show.
The opening flashback scene is key in terms of establishing the history between Dick and Donna. They're basically two lonely sidekicks who found a friend in each other while their parents discussed work. In a rare moment of innocence, Dick even explains their relationship by saying, "Her mom knew my dad." It's a great way to induct Donna into the fold and reveal that not every aspect of Dick's childhood at Chez Wayne was so awful. It helped this episode feel like less of a side-story than most of the even-numbered episodes have been. Donna is basically the source of stability Dick needs as he grapples with giving up the Robin mantle and searching for something new.

Filmmakers who want to receive funding from the British Film Institute (BFI) will have to abandon an old trope, as the BFI will no longer fund movies featuring villains with scars, reports the Telegraph.
The move comes as the BFI backs Changing Faces' #IAmNotYourVillain charitable campaign. The BFI is reportedly the first organization to support the project and is doing so in an effort to destigmatize facial disfigurements.
"Film is a catalyst for change," said BFI Deputy CEO Ben Roberts, "and that is why we are committing to not having negative representations depicted through scars or facial difference in the films we fund.”

The Red Dead Online experience is one that stretches from moments of patient player management that are barely distinguishable from Red Dead Redemption 2’s single-player component, to the complete chaos of PvP multiplayer in indiscriminate, close-quarters slaughter. In my first two days embedded in Rockstar’s sprawling shared world I’ve hunted game, harassed griefers, hijacked a train, and had no less than three haircuts. I’ve partnered with friends to take on traditional missions bookended with well-produced cutscenes, and stalked total strangers through a shrinking section of forest with just a handful of throwing knives in small-scale battles royale. I’ve warily quaffed beers with an unknown player in a Blackwater bar and been lassoed and towed behind another player’s horse for no apparent purpose.

BioWare is holding a closed alpha for its upcoming online multiplayer action RPG Anthem from December 8-9, and registration is open now until December 3.
Announced by EA, the alpha is part of EA’s Community Playtesting program, and will be available on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, though openings are predictably limited. Multiple sessions will be spread across the two days, and those who make it into the alpha can participate in one or all of them. As is typical for an alpha, this will be used to test out matchmaking, server loads, and more.
To sign up, simply head to the EA Community Playtesting webpage, sign in with an EA account, choose a platform and when you’d like to play the alpha, and submit. Registration is "first come first served” and if you get in, a confirmation will appear on the Community Playtesting site, and you will receive an email letting you know how to download the alpha.

Announced through Bloodstained’s Kickstarter page, producer Koji Igarashi called WayForward a "top-tier" developer of side-scrolling action games, adding that he worked with one of WayForward's employees on a previous project. Igarashi said WayForward would help him to realize his vision for the game.
The producer added that WayForward has been "helping to improve the game and fix any bugs that pop up." There's one bug in particular that's currently making Bloodstained crash, but Igarashi said it'll be fixed with the new partner studio's help.

As reported by Bloomberg, this contract could lead to the US Army purchasing over 100,000 HoloLens headsets, intending to "increase lethality by enhancing the ability to detect, decide and engage before the enemy."
While the U.S. Army and Israeli military have been running training programs with Microsoft HoloLens, these next steps would prepare them in use for live combat.
While the Army will be using HoloLens devices, they will obviously be different than the consumer-grade products as they will look to "incorporate night vision and thermal sensing, measure vital signs like breathing and “readiness,” monitor for concussions and offer hearing protection."

After several hours of navigating bugs and glitches, surviving enemies whose AI seemed to ping-pong between omniscient and ludicrously stupid, and maze-like level design, I had reached the end of an area of Underworld Ascendant that had given me considerable trouble. I actually paused, allowed myself to feel that relief and euphoria one gets when they never have to look at something terrible again. The portal to the exit was before me. I stepped forward.
...And fell through the floor, as the geometry of the Stygian Abyss decided arbitrarily to render itself ethereal. The Ascendant, Underworld’s protagonist, plummeted into some sort of netherscape that forced a reset to escape, and, thanks to Underworld Ascendant’s ludicrous save system, all progress in the level in question was lost. An entire night spent meticulously poking around, exploring, fighting, and sneaking was rendered moot by something beyond my control.

Aquaman is tracking for domestic opening weekend sales of at least $65 million, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The report cites Warner Bros. insiders for this high number, but if Aquaman crosses the $65 million mark during its opening weekend, the film could continue past $85 million by Christmas Day, with one major tracking service predicting it could near $100 million.
With Jason Momoa in the title role, Aquaman will debut the weekend of Dec. 21-23 and will go up against Mary Poppins Returns and Bumblebee. Of these three, Aquaman is expected to earn the most during this period.

The trailer for Jon Favreau’s The Lion King broke records over Thanksgiving, and no wonder: It’s a remake of a beloved classic, and it looks stunning. But in between breathless exclamations of emotion since the trailer hit - whether borne of CGI majesty or nostalgia - there’s been much debate around the film’s photorealistic visual style. Put simply: Will a “live-action” Lion King feel weird? And can it possibly be as visually stylish as the original? Indeed, these questions also raise a more existential one about animation’s history and future in general.
The most tedious version of this argument concerns the jargon of moviemaking. Given that the film will be entirely computer-generated, calling it “live-action” is patently incorrect. One can split hairs over the production process - shooting motion-captured actors on a bluescreen stage, rather than animating by hand - but not a single frame of live-action footage will make the film. How you define it, however, makes little difference; the intended aesthetic is that of live-action animals, and that’s that.

Here’s your first look at a trailer for Prodigy, a new comic book from Netflix’s Millarworld comic company. The trailer introduces super-genius Edison Crane and sets the stakes as he’s faced with the first problem he may not be able to solve, and if he doesn’t, it could mean the end of the world.

Prodigy is written by Mark Millar and drawn by Rafael Albuquerque.
When Netflix acquired Millar’s comic book company Millarworld earlier this year, the streaming giant announced plans to create movies based on Millar’s Empress, Sharkey the Bounty Hunter, and Huck as well as TV series for Jupiter’s Legacy and American Jesus. In addition, Millar has been working on creating new movies and shows for Netflix, some of which will be getting comics. The Magic Order (written by Millar with art by Olivier Coipel) was the first of these comics and up next is Prodigy, out next week. A Prodigy movie is currently in production for Netflix. A comic for Sharkey the Bounty Hunter from Millar and artist Simone Bianchi is on the way in February 2019.

Epic Games' battle royale shooter is getting more flak for allegedly contributing to video game addiction in kids.
Fortnite has come under fire once again for having a detrimental effect on younger players. A child psychologist claims that there has been a marked increase in kids attending counseling on account of video game addiction, which may or may not be tied to the uptake of players since the game's launch.
“This game is like heroin,” said British behavioural specialist, Lorrine Marer, whose work involves dealing with children suffering from video game addiction. “Once you are hooked, it’s hard to get unhooked."
Bloomberg reports on a number of parents and professionals recounting their experiences on Twitter that include a 17-year old playing for 12 hours a day and falling asleep in class, to over half of certain groups of kids getting counseled for video game addiction at a handful of camps in North Carolina playing the game to excess.

Fallout 76 is Bethesda Game Studios’ first foray into multiplayer for the popular series. Unfortunately, its launch has drawn tepid responses, to put it mildly.
But what it has undoubtedly succeeded in doing is generating even more anticipation for a new single-player Fallout game, and while 76 may not have stuck its landing, it does have a few ideas worth carrying forward—and some lessons that should definitely be taken to heart.
Here are five things Fallout 5 can learn from Fallout 76.
It’s Past Time to Recreate Creation
While Fallout 76 looks spectacular in some places—especially when the lighting and atmosphere really click—the Creation Engine’s technical limitations were conspicuous in Fallout 4 back in 2015. In 2018, they’re inexcusable. Fallout 76’s performance is hindered by frequent stutters, game crashes, and launch consoles struggling to maintain a reasonable framerate—not to mention the lack of a field-of-view slider. It’s a shame the Creation Engine is known for these issues, and not as an efficient design platform both Bethesda and modders expertly use to build bigger, better worlds. The next Fallout game is unlikely to use a new engine, but we can at least hope Bethesda is willing to go to whatever lengths are necessary to bring Creation up to par.

HBO's Game of Thrones cast members will appear in a reunion special, but it won't be shown on HBO, reports Entertainment Weekly.
The special will instead be included in a planned Game of Thrones complete series home video box set, the first to package all eight seasons together. Actors like Sean Bean (Ned Stark) who have long since departed the show will appear in the special, which will be hosted by Conan O'Brien.
Entertainment Weekly previously reported that the special had been shot in Belfast earlier this year, but HBO would not confirm as much until now. HBO plans to release the box set that includes the special sometime in 2019 after Thrones' series finale airs.

The first Read Dead Online beta has launched, with Rockstar allowing players to slowly ease into their servers depending on when you purchased and played the game.
The full list of player beta dates follows, with everyone who owns the game being allowed to join on Nov. 30. Here is when you can play:
- Tuesday, November 27: All Red Dead Redemption 2: Ultimate Edition owners.
- Wednesday, November 28: All players who played Red Dead Redemption 2 on October 26th according to Rockstar's data.
- Thursday, November 29: All players who played Red Dead Redemption 2 between October 26th to October 29th according to Rockstar's data.

Sony has revealed the full lineup of free games PlayStation Plus subscribers will receive in December though the PlayStation Blog, and the list includes an atmospheric horror game, an over-the-top action-racer, and more.
This month’s PlayStation Plus lineup includes:
- Soma (PS4)
- Onrush (PS4)
- Steredenn (PS3)
- Steinsgate (PS3)
- Iconoclasts (PS Vita, Cross Buy with PS4)
- Papers, Please (PS Vita)
On PlayStation 4, subscribers will get Soma, an exploration-based horror game created by Amnesia studio Fictional Games. It combines monsters and crude machines to create a departure from the developer's previous work.
