Disney's live-action Star Wars series will reportedly have a costly budget.
Per the New York Times, Disney will spend an estimated $100 million on the show's 10 episodes. The project, from Iron Man director Jon Favreau, will debut exclusively on Disney's upcoming streaming service.
“Star Wars is a big world, and Disney’s new streaming service affords a wonderful opportunity to tell stories that stretch out over multiple chapters,” Favreau said in an email.
The yet untitled series will take place seven years after Star Wars: Return of the Jedi and will center on new characters. Favreau is penning the show and executive producing as well. It could launch alongside a live-action Marvel show, a Monsters, Inc. animated series, and a High School Musical TV show.
