Bethesda is officially opening a new studio in Dallas, Texas.
Announced during the QuakeCon 2018 keynote, Dallas-based Escalation Studios has been bought by Bethesda, and is now officially Bethesda Game Studios Dallas.
Bethesda confirmed that the Dallas studio is busy working on the upcoming Starfield title, as well as the mobile game Elder Scrolls: Blades. It's unclear exactly what the Dallas studio will be contributing to both titles, but as Escalation Studios, it co-developed the SnapMap feature alongside id Software for Doom (2016).
Starfield was announced during Bethesda's keynote at this year's E3, and is the studio's first wholly original IP in 25 years. It was also described as a next-gen game, though it's possible the game will still come to current-gen consoles.
