The X-Files has spun its story of worldwide government conspiracies, cryptofascist alien invasions and evil oil for a quarter of a century at this point (the show first premiered September 10, 1993). But it’s also found the time to create over a hundred monstrosities for the show’s one-shot monster-of-the-week episodes - which many fans praise more highly than the show’s central plotline.
I got the chance to speak to the show’s creator, Chris Carter about the show’s best ever monsters - from sympathetic mutants to inbred murderers - and asked him to give us his favourite facts about their creation. You can find out what we learned in the slideshow below:
