Said Taghmaoui, a French-American actor of Moroccan descent known for his recent role in Wonder Woman as Sameer, says he’s been cast as the main villain in the upcoming James Bond film - or at least he had been, before Danny Boyle left the project. Now the casting is in question.
As reported by Variety, Taghmaoui told The National (an Abu Dhabi newspaper) that he had definitely gotten the role under Danny Boyle’s watch, but now the producers don’t know which nationality they want the villain to be.
“We don’t know who the director will be, and the producers don’t know if they’re going to go Russian or Middle East with the baddie right now,” Taghmaoui said. “I literally just received a message saying: ‘If they go Middle East, it’s you. If they go Russian, it’s someone else.’”
