The sequel to the excellent 2013 roguelike Risk of Rain surprise launched in Early Access on Steam this morning.
Risk of Rain 2 is still an action roguelike with online co-op for up to four players, but it’s now entirely in 3D. While the plan was always for Risk of Rain 2 to arrive in Q1 2019, no hard date was ever given – though developer Hopoo Games began teasing something yesterday.
According to the Steam page, Risk of Rain 2 will be in Early Access for around a year. It states that “the core game loop and multiplayer suite is fully implemented” right now, but that polish and lots more content will be added over time, and that community feedback is important.
