SPOILERS ahead for the Captain Marvel movie!
The shape-shifting alien Skrulls finally made their MCU debut in Captain Marvel, but given that it turns out they’re not really villains like they've long been in the comics, does that rule out their most iconic comics storyline, 2008's Secret Invasion, from ever getting the big screen treatment?
Secret Invasion -- which saw the Skrulls covertly replace key members in governments and superhero teams around the globe and then activate those sleeper agents in an attempt to take over the world -- is why so many fans have spent nearly two years posting theories on which member of the Avengers has been a Skrull this whole time. But now, given the Skrulls' redemptive treatment in Captain Marvel, a Secret Invasion film seems unlikely.
