Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 3, "The Long Night," is the most watched episode of Game of Thrones during an initial airing night ever, bringing in 17.8 million viewers.
This massive number includes two airings on HBO from Sunday night as well as streaming viewers from HBO Now and HBO Go, beating out the previous gross audience high of 17.4 million viewers for the Season 8 premiere episode; the total viewers of the premiere episode has now surpassed 38 million viewers, according to HBO.
The initial 9:00 p.m. airing on its own brought in 12.02 million viewers, which also marks a season high for that time period broadcast. According to Variety, this makes "The Long Night” the second most watched episode of Thrones for linear viewers, clocking in just behind the Season 7 finale, which brought in 12.1 million linear viewers on its initial airing.
