Warning: Full spoilers follow for Dark Phoenix.
There’s been a lot of mystery surrounding Jessica Chastain’s villain character in the latest X-Men movie, Dark Phoenix. We now know that she plays the Marvel character Vuk, who is a member of the alien D’Bari race. But leading up to the film’s release, director Simon Kinberg would only acknowledge that she was in fact playing an alien, while keeping her true identity a mystery. But beyond that it was just one big question mark. Or one big X mark in this case.
But Dark Phoenix has now arrived, and so the truth is out there! While the White Queen, or Lilandra of the Shi’ar space empire, or even Cassandra Nova have all been popular fan theories about which Marvel villain Chastain might’ve been playing, the revelation that she appears as the little known Vuk from the alien race the D’Bari is a bit of a letdown.
