Jeremy Renner, who has played Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since 2011's Thor, has responded to the news that Spider-Man reportedly may leave the MCU and has asked Sony Pictures to give him back.
Posted on Instagram, Renner said "Hey @sonypictures we want Spider-Man back to @therealstanlee and @marvel please, thank you #congrats #spidermanrocks #please"
This reaction was in response to the breakdown of negotiations between Sony Pictures and Disney/Marvel that, if no deal is made, would mean that Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige would not produce any further Spider-Man films and Spider-Man would vanish from the MCU as if Thanos once again snapped his fingers.
