He fought in the War of the Austrian Succession and the Seven Years' War, twice becoming a prisoner of war. In 1769, in command of Saint Jean-Baptiste, he sailed from India on an expedition to the Pacific looking for trading opportunities. He explored the seas around the Solomon Islands and anchored in December at Doubtless Bay, New Zealand (commemorative plaque pictured). Part of his route around New Zealand overlapped that of James Cook in Endeavour, who had preceded him by only a few days. Three months later, Surville drowned off the coast of Peru while seeking help for his scurvy-afflicted crew.

Ray Emery.
Raymond Robert Emery (1982–2018) was a Canadian ice hockey goaltender who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for 11 seasons. Chosen 99th overall by the Ottawa Senators in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, he helped them reach the 2007 Stanley Cup Finals, the first appearance in the finals by the modern Senators. With Emery, the Chicago Blackhawks won the 2013 Stanley Cup championship. He won, among numerous other awards and accolades, the William M. Jennings Trophy in April 2013 along with teammate Corey Crawford for giving up the fewest goals in the season. Emery finished the 2012–13 season with 1.94 goals against average and a 0.922 save percentage. His 17 wins included 12 straight to start the year, the best such streak in NHL history. He was a two-time Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy finalist for his dedication and perseverance. His teammates and fans often referred to him as "Razor" or "Sugar Ray" for his aggressive playing style.
Raymond Robert Emery (1982–2018) was a Canadian ice hockey goaltender who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for 11 seasons. Chosen 99th overall by the Ottawa Senators in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, he helped them reach the 2007 Stanley Cup Finals, the first appearance in the finals by the modern Senators. With Emery, the Chicago Blackhawks won the 2013 Stanley Cup championship. He won, among numerous other awards and accolades, the William M. Jennings Trophy in April 2013 along with teammate Corey Crawford for giving up the fewest goals in the season. Emery finished the 2012–13 season with 1.94 goals against average and a 0.922 save percentage. His 17 wins included 12 straight to start the year, the best such streak in NHL history. He was a two-time Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy finalist for his dedication and perseverance. His teammates and fans often referred to him as "Razor" or "Sugar Ray" for his aggressive playing style.

It's a bit of a relief to be on the other side of the Absolute Carnage tunnel. While that storyline ranks among Marvel's better crossover events in recent years, it still suffers from that all too familiar flaw where the core miniseries tells a very straightforward, action-oriented tale. In this case, most of the deeper character work is reserved for tie-in books like Venom and The Amazing Spider-Man. Now that Venom is on its own again, it's free to tell a fuller and more cohesive story. And if there's any takeaway from issue #20, it's that Eddie Brock faces a very exciting and unpredictable future.
Even if you don't follow this series month-to-month, it's worth reading Venom #20 as an epilogue to to Absolute Carnage. This issue examines the aftermath of the crossover and how it affects Eddie, his son Dylan and even The Maker for good measure. Writer Donny Cates makes it abundantly clear that Knull's reawakening is only one of the major developments coming out of the crossover. This issue introduces significant new wrinkles to the mythology of the symbiotes and works to forge deeper connections between Eddie and The Maker. As fascinating a villain as this interdimensional Reed Richards is, his presence in the series has always felt a bit arbitrary. That changes in a big way now.

Those were all very interesting and intense moments. And I mentioned last week how I hoped Rosita would get to be the one to take that Dante out. I was just afraid things wouldn't come to a head as quickly as they did. Like, that the episode would take its sweet-ass time with the full reveal of Dante's betrayal. But we got it right out of the gate, so "The World Before" gets some solid points for digging into it right quick.

After months of speculation and waiting, we finally know the name of the third television series in The Walking Dead franchise. AMC aired the first teaser for the series during the mid-season finale of The Walking Dead Season 10.
The series will be called The Walking Dead: World Beyond. The series is the third in the franchise and the second spinoff, after the original series and Fear the Walking Dead. World Beyond doesn't have a release date yet, but the teaser trailer promises the show will debut in 2020.

The neck contained 13 vertebrae. The tail was powered by strong musculature and had a rear section that was rather rigid due to long and overlapping chevron bones. Features of the vestibular apparatus suggest that vision and coordinated eye, head, and neck movements were important in Spinophorosaurus. Paired spikes on the tail may have been used for defence.

T7 was a sea-going torpedo boat operated by the Royal Yugoslav Navy between 1921 and 1941. Originally 96 F, a 250t-class torpedo boat commissioned on 23 November 1916 by the Austro-Hungarian Navy, she performed escort, minesweeping, anti-submarine and shore bombardment operations during World War I. Following Austria-Hungary's defeat in 1918, she was allocated to Yugoslavia and renamed T7. She was captured by the Italians during the Axis invasion of Yugoslavia in April 1941 and used for coastal and second-line tasks, after her main armament was modernised. Following the Italian capitulation in September 1943, she was captured by Germany and handed over to the Navy of the Independent State of Croatia, continuing to serve as T7. Her crew came under the influence of the Yugoslav Partisans, and were preparing to mutiny when the Germans intervened. She ran aground during a battle with British motor torpedo boats in June 1944 and was then destroyed.

The story of Shenmue began 20 years ago, and for its time the original game was an undeniable marvel in video game storytelling and world-building. You lived Ryo Hazuki’s life, developing relationships and maintaining a day job in your Japanese hometown, all while trying to track down your father’s murderer so you could extract vengeance. Time has not been kind to that original game, nor its 2001 sequel, as video game stories and performance capture tech have improved drastically. In many ways, Shenmue 3 is a stark reminder of the leaps and bounds developers have made in the last 20 years. That’s not to say there isn’t a compelling experience here – it just feels out of time and doesn’t reward the Shenmue faithful with meaningful revelations in the story.

Even though Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam isn't being introduced in a Shazam! movie, his big screen debut will feature a number of iconic DC heroes. According to Johnson himself, the upcoming Black Adam movie will introduce the Justice Society of America to DC's cinematic universe.
In an interview with Screen Rant, Johnson reiterated that fans shouldn't expect Black Adam and Shazam to cross paths just yet. "Without giving too much away, it’s not in the plans right now, Johnson said. "I think the approach that we’re talking I feel really good about, and all of the filmmakers do too as well. It’s an origin story and that’s where we start it and we root it, and then we build out from there. Now, not to say Shazam isn’t on my radar. Of course Shazam is, but so is all of DC."

J.J. Abrams said that there's definitely a reason why Rey is so strong with the Force in the new batch of Star Wars movies.
In an interview with Rolling Stone published on Thursday, the interviewer pointed out that Rey is picking up on the Force at a fast pace. Rey knew nothing at the beginning of The Last Jedi and was lifting boulders by the end of the movie. Abrams agreed with that statement and hinted at some clarity for Rey's abilities in The Rise of Skywalker.
