The Alienist is getting a sequel series based on author Caleb Carr's The Angel of Darkness novel, TNT has announced.
The book is set in 1897, a year after The Alienist, and once again follows Dr. Laszlo Kreizler, who's portrayed by Daniel Brühl. Alongside Brühl, Luke Evans and Dakota Fanning will also return for the new series.
A premiere date for The Angel of Darkness has not been set yet.
The Alienist earned six Emmy Award nominations this year, including one for Outstanding Limited Series. The story follows Kreizler as he tries to capture a ritualistic killer murdering young boys.
