The USA Network has officially ordered the television show Treadstone, which is set in the Jason Bourne universe, straight to series.
As reported by Variety, the series focuses on Operation Treadstone, a top-secret program intended to create nearly superhuman spies and assassins. Treadstone achieved this by breaking down the moralities of its subjects - the first season will reportedly follow multiple subjects as they are "awakened" to complete their missions. The season will begin production some time in 2019.
Treadstone is being written and executive produced by Tim Kring, known for creating the shows Strange World and Heroes. Other executive producers include Ben Smith, Jefferey Weiner, Dan Friedkin, Bradley Thomas, Justin Levey and Ramin Bahrani, the last of which will also direct the series' pilot.
